Bramhall Hall is one of Cheshire's grandest black and white timber-framed buildings. It is a manor house built in the traditional local style. Surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens, man made ponds and a large play area, it makes for a wonderful day out.
Tickets for adults to enter the hall are £5 and under 16's are free with a full paying adult. The hall is one of the most beautiful treasures of England and is of great national importance. The magnificent 16th Century wall paintings, striking Elizabethan plaster ceiling, the Victorian kitchens and Servantsí Quarters give this hall its unique charm.

This hall is a perfect place to visit when the weather is nice as they have a great open space and terrace as part of the Stables Kitchen Cafe. We sat and ate lunch outside whilst our children played on the large, enclosed grass area. This is the only place I have ever felt truly at ease whilst dining with a toddler. My little girl ran around this space, making friends and must have spent a good hour kicking a football around. The food that is on offer is fantastic. I would definitely recommend the arancini and salad! The cakes also looked delicious.
The play area here will keep your children entertained for some time. They have a range of different slides, with one particular one proving very challenging to reach and is more suited to older children. One side has a climbing wall and another has a net to climb up. They have a number of different types of swings, as well as a silver orb to spin in and a racing car.
The hall itself stands in about 60 acres of parkland designed in the Victorian Romantic style. It offers woodland walks with intriguing glimpses of the hall itself and of the brooks and lakes. We spent over three hours here, but, didn't get chance to venture far. We will definitely be returning to explore more of the estate and see all its offerings.
Many events are held at Bramhall Hall throughout the year and the open air theatre performances sell out fast. Upcoming shows include; Open Air Shakespeare: The Merchant of Venice and Open Air Family Theatre: The Midnight Gang by David Walliams. For more information about these events, please click here.
