Bruntwood Park And BMX Track

by Lydia (follow)
A play area of excellence

Bruntwood Park is located in Stockport and provides excellent playground facilities, a superb family friendly café and a fabulous BMX track that is free for children of all ages. There is also a pitch and putt course, archery facilities and a bouncy castle during weekends and school holidays. For a free, family day out this is the place to go.

There are a variety of facilities available at the park and all of this is set around excellent state of the art playgrounds. There are three main areas for children to play on. There is a play area surrounded by sand with a pirate ship to explore. For smaller children there is a climbing frame and slide area and for older children there is a large tunnel slide too. The park provides adventure and fun, with all the equipment carefully chosen and landscaped.

When the weather is nice and during popular times they even have a bouncy castle for all to play on. This is a charged activity at £2 for 10 minutes. This is available at weekends and during school holidays and adds to the excitement of the park.

The Vinery Café has a large open space that is incredibly child friendly, with outdoor seating overlooking beautiful gardens. We enjoyed a big breakfast here and we were not disappointed. The service was quick and the food was very reasonably priced. We arrived early and managed to secure a large table but it did get busy as it neared lunch time and it proves a very popular spot!

My favourite part of Bruntwood has to be the BMX track near the car park. It is lottery funded and so is free of charge for all to access. It has clear instructions that you must wear appropriate headwear and protective clothing to avoid injury and that you must only use the track with a mountain bike or BMX bike. There were lots of smaller children using it with balance bikes also and it is a great place for young children to learn how to use it in safe environment.
