Circus Funtasia: Wythenshawe Park

by Lydia (follow)
Circus Funtasia has arrived at Wythenshawe Park for this half term only. The show is action packed and provides an hour and forty-five minutes of pure escapism.

One of the stars of the show is the fourteen year old 'Harley Quinn' who speeds around the stage on a hover board. She quite spectacularly juggles all kinds of equipment, including knives. We also loved both of the aerial acts, which were simply mesmerising. They glided through the air with incredible grace.

There are lots of opportunities to get involved if you have always wanted to join the circus! Audience participation provided us with lots of laughs as the geeky ringmaster teases and encourages those on stage to dance around and dress up.

The fire-breathing stunts were also incredible. He ate the fire, breathed it, juggled it and quite spectacularly used a skipping rope of fire to whip plumes of fire in to the air.

The show culminates in a motorbike extravaganza and I have never seen anything like it before. They manage to fit four motorbikes in this steel ball and they zoom round at high speed. It definitely has to be seen to be believed.

No circus would be complete without face painting, candy floss, popcorn and flashing lights. These are available in plentiful supply. The face painter is super speedy and does a fantastic job for just 3. The stars of the show come together at the end for photo opportunities too.

The show is on for a limited time only and ends on Sunday 25th February. Be sure not to miss out on a family filled fun show.
