Haigh Woodland Park is hailed as the north west's favourite natural attraction. Situated in Wigan it boasts high ropes, an adventure golf course, a sprawling free play area for youngsters, golf courses and loads of fine food and drink.
We have visited a number of times as there is lots to offer here. The big draw for the kids is the play area, this is one of the best playgrounds I have been to in Greater Manchester. There are also 250 acres of woodland and there are walks and cycle routes across the entire estate. If little legs get tired they also have a miniature railway which takes you to the beautiful walled gardens.
Within the woodland they have hugely popular British Saddleback pigs. They are helping bring back the natural flora and fauna of the woodland by rooting up and munching though invasive roots and seeds. They are even hosting a 'Pig Tail Trail' in April where you can walk and learn about the pigs at Haigh.
itison is a premium deals service that helps people to discover incredible deals and experiences, including 5* hotels, amazing restaurants, and exclusive events.
They host a range of crafts and outdoor activities throughout the year and even have Wild Camps where children learn bushcraft skills like firelighting. The facilities at Haigh Woodland Park are great and the food and shops available within the courtyard are also worth a visit. The monthly Artisan Market is a magnificent addition to the array of activities on offer at Haigh Woodland Park. We loved the Poutin there and enjoyed playing on the park in the early evening.

"Our first trip to this park on recommendation of friends. We were really impressed - our daughter loved it, the play area is fantastic, she loved the crazy golf ( great value for £1) and the food in the courtyard was tasty and fresh - fantastic day out and will definitely return!"
"Absolutely loved our visit on Sunday. Went to take the children 9 and 11 on high ropes, our first visit, what a little gem. Fantastic facilities. High ropes were the best we've done and we've done several including centre parcs and less than half the price. Crazy golf was £1 unbelievable and a great course. There was adventure golf, which is new and was a little more money but still cheap. We also saw pitch and putt courses AND football golf. The park was also full of great equipment not the standard stuff. We were there for 3 hours and we couldn't get round everything so will be returning. The information centre had just opened and it looks great. The people were very helpful and food services excellent. There was even a fair bit we had too much to do to go on it. Thanks to all the workers and volunteers you are doing a fabulous job, we were very impressed."
