Happy Mount Park in Morecombe has to be one of my favourite days out. It has everything you could possibly need to entertain the children at a very small cost. The splash park is fantastic and is the perfect place to cool down when the weather is hot!
On weekends and school holidays you need to get down to the splash park early to reserve your slot. Tickets cost £1 per person and you get an allocated time slot, which allows you to have just under two hours in there. There is plenty of space to spread out your picnic blanket and supplies. We loved the assortment of fountains and spent a long time running in and out of them. They will definitely entertain children of all ages.
The café serves a wide range of food and beverages for you and there is a plentiful supply of seating both indoors and outdoors. The theming for this area is all about pirates and it makes a perfect setting for a pirate party. They have a special section for this and a soft play area too for the colder days. They also have a large outdoor mini golf that involves navigating your golf ball around a pirate ship!
My little girl loves trampolines and so we were very happy to see these near the café. It cost £1.30 to go on it and because it was quite quiet we were allowed to stay on for as long as we wanted. There was also swing boats and a small park near this area.
Further in to the park there was a mini train and another play area (again pirate themed) and these had a small charge to use (£1 per person). The pirate play area was worth the £1 as they had a wooden pirate ship, climbing walls and lots of ride-on toys to use. All the staff in the various locations were so friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make our day special.
When we finished exploring the park we spent some time on the beach in Morecombe and had a short stroll along the rocks here. Morecombe town centre is also worth venturing to if you have more time.
