Kid Friendly Farms Near Manchester

A trip to the farm is not only a wonderful experience for little ones, but also a great day out for all the family! Enjoy some one on one time with the animals, get a taste of rural life and see exactly what it takes to be a farmer.


Here are five of the best 'Kid Friendly Farms' in and around Manchester.

Lancaster Park and Animal Farm, Oldham
Give kids the ultimate 'farm life' experience at Lancaster Animal Farm, where children will get to pet, feed and make friends with a variety of different animals including sheep, rabbits, horses, pigs and chickens to name a few.

The Manchester Crochet Club meets fortnightly to learn crochet, meet other Manchester mums, and have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along!
There's also an onsite playground, quad carts and loads more to see and do.

Tatton Park Farm, Knutsford
The perfect family farm no matter what the weather, as a lot of the animals at Tatton Park Farm are housed indoors. There's loads of different animals to meet and plenty of other "farm themed" activities to get stuck into, such as den building, cow milking shows during the summer months, an indoor tractor play area, as well as a children's woodland trail and maze.

Wythenshawe Park Farm, Wythenshawe
As well as feeding and meeting their animals, Wythenshawe Park Farm focuses on educating children about 'where their food comes from' and even has an on site farm shop selling a range of locally grown produce.

Animals to see here include cows, chickens, pigs, horses, ducks and a 'prize-winning herd of Hereford cattle'! The farm is also right next door to Wythenshawe Park's popular playground; 2 birds, 1 stone.

Animal Quackers Park Farm, Bacup
'If you’re crackers about farm animals get down to Animal Quackers!' You'll get to meet Farmer Terry who will give you a tour of the farm, introduce you to some of their most loved residents and show you some typical farming activities.

As well as their favourite farm animals, kids will also get the chance to meet chinchillas, snakes, spiders, geckos and even puppies and kittens!

Stockley Farm, Northwich
Stockley Farm gives kids the ultimate, hands on farming experience. Start your day off with a hay ride, bottle feed the lambs, cuddle up with the rabbits and enjoy a whole host of farming activities.

There's a 'Birds of Prey' show, cow milking and crop farming demonstration, as well as an outdoor adventure playground and an indoor play area with lots of ride on tractors.
