Each of Trafford's five swimming pools has specific 'drop in' sessions for families with under 5's. They are called 'Baby Splash' and they are a perfect way for parents to introduce children to the water in a controlled, safe and fun environment. All of the sessions are staffed by a qualified ASA Level 2 swimming teacher who can give you tips and guidance on how best to help your baby learn to love the water! They provide a nice, clean and safe swimming pool as well as loads of fun toys, floats and equipment for you to use.

We started at Urmston Leisure Centre recently and my three year old has joined the Ducklings class. These are structured classes for pre-school children that are designed to develop water confidence. The sessions last for 30 minutes and my little girl loves it. They are the highlight of her week. She loves playing in the water and through interactive play and games she has lots of fun.

We pay £21 a month for the weekly swimming class and it is incredible value for money. Not only do you get the 30 minute classes you can also attend the open swim sessions and Baby Splash activities throughout the week. They also have additional activities on during school holidays that you can utilise!
