Manley Mere Adventure Trail

by Lydia (follow)
A fun filled day out

Manley Mere Adventure Trail is like nothing I have ever experienced before. If you like exploring and are not afraid of a bit of mud, then this place is for you. The trail is suitable for all ages and wellies are a definite must have accessory.

The trail itself is around one and a half miles long but there is no set route. The uniqueness to this day out is that you will stumble across hidden gems to try out if you dare. There are a number of obstacles littered around the trail and each is self propelled and made from recycled materials and re-used agricultural material.

There are zip wires, a pirate ship, high ropes and lots of tire swings within Manley Mere. My little one loved climbing over and under the various assault courses. Throughout the day we met lots of friendly families and groups who were having lots of fun. We weren't brave enough to try the dunking chair that tipped people in to the water, but, we loved watching lots of people get soaked. We sat watching the same group of children try it out and laughed so hard seeing their faces when they went in to the water.

The trail itself is £10 per person and under 5's are free. It is great value for money as you can spend hours here. They have changing rooms at the entrance to the trail with a cold water hose to wash off mud once you have finished the trail. You will get incredibly muddy so a change of clothes would be advised. I didn't prepare properly and was left with a very mucky car!

Manley Mere also has lots of other fun activities for you to take advantage of. We loved strolling around the lake as it was such a beautiful setting. If you like water sports you can also try you hand at kayaking or spend a leisurely hour in a rowing boat. There are lots of sheltered areas for picnics or the Chameleon café bar and restaurant provide a wide array of food and cakes for you to sample.

We had such a lovely day here and will definitely venture back!
