Engaging pre-school children in wildlife and outdoor activity
Nature Tots in Moss Bank Park is a well established programme set up by the Lancashire Wildlife trust. The sessions take place on a Tuesday and Friday from 10.00am until 11.15am and seek to encourage pre-school children to explore all that nature has to offer.
They are a great way for children to have fun in the outdoors and they really engage the children in sensory play. Activities include Nature Art, Bug Hunts, Games, Storytime and much more. Waterproof suits are provided if required. Each session is £4 and this includes refreshments for children and their parents.
itison is a premium deals service that helps people to discover incredible deals and experiences, including 5* hotels, amazing restaurants, and exclusive events.
The Hive is also home to a local food growing project, which seeks to provide you with inspiration and training for growing your own food at home and enjoying nature while you do! They work to inspire pupils of all ages and abilities to explore and actively learn about growing food, wildlife and the environment.
Moss Bank Park itself offers a great day out too. There is so much to explore and see within its 34 hectares. We spent the afternoon having a picnic and playing on the array of play equipment. There are three distinct play areas for children of all ages. These include sand play, slides and climbing frames and a wooden assault course. The sand pit and particularly the diving board in to the sand was a firm favourite for my fearless toddler.
