by Sophie Cannon (follow)
Manchester's premier indoor play centre

With Manchester's highly unpredictable weather, it's always a huge advantage to have a list of rainy day options to hand- just in case!

So we've decided to showcase some of Manchester's best indoor family activities that are not only ideal for any occasion but perfect for those times where outdoor fun is just not an option!

Anchors Away Play, Wythenshawe

Next up on our list of rainy day options is Anchors Away Play, an indoor soft play centre which caters for all, from young babies, toddlers and children up to the age of 11, there is something for everyone.

The Manchester Crochet Club meets fortnightly to learn crochet, meet other Manchester mums, and have a good chat. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, everyone is welcome to come along!
With a great mixture of soft play zones, children's activities, party hire rooms and a family friendly eatery, Anchors Away is sure to become a firm favourite with Manchester Mums.

Play
The little'uns of the group (ages 0-3) can burn off energy in the specially designed toddler area, a fun and colourful play arena with soft throw blocks, a miniature wavy slide, climbing apparatus and an inviting playhouse. If that wasn't enough, youngsters will love zooming around in the pedal cars on their very own race track.

Older adventurers (3-11 years) are also more than catered for with a large, soft play zone filled with ball pit areas, stand up spinners, four-lane slide, astroturf football pitch, spiral slide and the ever so popular "Surf Rider".

Eat
All that play makes many a hungry tummy, so why not chow down in the on-site Anchors Away coffee shop and restaurant? As well as hot and cold drinks and delicious cakes and pastries, the menu offers up a large range of freshly made, nutritionally balanced meals for both adults and children.
