The Snowman Trail at Salford Quays is brought to you by Wild in Art, the same team that was behind the fantastic Bee in the City Trail that was held over the summer. This takes place in the heart of Salford Quays and is a fabulous free day out. This family-friendly trail features twelve giant sculptures inspired by the song The Twelve Days of Christmas.
Each of the twelve main sculptures has been decorated by a professional artist. A collection of smaller Snowman sculptures will be displayed inside The Open Centre at MediaCityUK, the Lowry Outlet and The Lowry. They will be designed by local children and young people and will be displayed from 8 December 2018 until 13 January 2019.
The trail itself will take you approximately one hour and a half to complete and will take you all around Salford Quays. The first of the statues is in the Lowry Outlet and then the second one takes you to the Lowry Theatre. Other sites you get to see along the way include the Imperial War Museum and the Blue Peter Garden so you can make this in to a full day out if you have time.
The statues all have a letter at the bottom, so make sure you take a map from the Lowry Outlet customer service desk to write them all down. Once you complete the trail there is a certificate that you can download which is available here. Don't forget to visit the grotto in the Lowry Outlet too. This is on the top floor and costs £8 per child with a free adult. This can be booked online.
