What's on in Manchester for Kids. October Half Term Edition
The Half Term break has come around quickly, and whether you’re a working mum or not, sometimes you need a helping hand to keep everyone entertained and inspired! That’s where a day trip, show, workshop or class can be perfect.
Here’s what’s on this October Half Term in the Greater Manchester area. There’s something for everyone, so no one will miss out!

Kids' Holiday Snow Camps at Chill Factore in Trafford
At Manchester's indoor real snow centre Chill Factore, children can take their first steps into the skiing or snowboarding world or, even improve on their existing snow skills with their fantastic Kids' Holiday Snow Camps.
Running on select dates this half term they're a great way to spend the holidays.

Each camp runs from 10am-6pm, with a mix of slope time as well as fun activities in the Snow Park.
When: Sat 19 October - Sun 3 November from 10am - 6pm.

Halloween Fest at Martin Mere
If you're up for an action packed day out with the family that everyone will love, Martin Mere is the place to go.
Daily events on offer are Pumpkin Hunts and Carvings, Broomstick Flight Training and a Canoe Scarefari.

It's Time to Be a Hero with the PJ Masks at intu Trafford Centre
Kids can enjoy some extra special hero fun at intu Trafford Centre as Catboy, Gekko and Owlette from PJ Masks make an unmissable appearance at this FREE and fun-packed event.

Wizard Academy at Bury Bolton Street Station
Kids can join a wacky cast of wizards on a madcap magical adventure to save the Grand Old School of Wizardry.
Budding Witches and Wizards will join their teachers for their first day at the Grand Old School of Wizardry and take part in an interactive adventure. Kids will practice spellwork and learn about magic as they rescue one of the school's magical artefacts from a band of villainous warlocks.

One return trip from Bury to Rawtenstall hauled by a magical heritage steam train
A two hour trip with some of the East Lancashire Railway's wackiest wizards
Wizard themed activities

The morning event will begin promptly at 10:25am and finish at approximately 12:30pm. The afternoon event will begin promptly at 2:30pm and finish at approximately 4:40pm.

Dear Zoo at Quays Theatre
Dear Zoo, the children's classic book returns to the stage in October, just in time for the half term!
Rod Campbell's best-selling lift the flap book has delighted generations of young readers since it was first published in 1982 and has sold more than 8 million copies worldwide.
This production will delight all those who have read the book (both young and old) as it unfolds with child-engaging puppets, music and lots of audience interaction.

Upside Down House at Trafford Centre
Don't miss the new attraction that's arrived outside the Trafford Centre in time for the October half term. An eye-catching Upside Down House has opened up for families to explore!
The house is arranged over two storeys and fully furnished with a kitchen, bathroom, living room art and bedroom. Visitors are invited to walk on the ceiling and 'lose themselves going downstairs to go up and letting their imagination run riot as they capture the perfect photo.

Science and Industry Museum in Manchester
If you have a young engineer in your home, head along to the Science and Industry Museum and witness a People Powered Party which relies on cyclists to get the music pumping and lights flashing. It's incredible and not to be missed!
The Museum has more than 30 activities, workshops and shows taking place over the two-week break and families can themselves use six dynamo bikes to power their own disco and explore the key principles of eating, energy and exercise.

Another highlight is The Juggling Of Science where families can watch juggling duo Ben and Fred, a.k.a. Frederike Gerstner and Ben Nicholson, use their ball skills to explain the wonders of science.

Ascarium at Sea Life
Sea Life is taking on a spooky twist this half term as the venue is transformed into an Ascarium. Families are invited to explore the ocean depths and discover the spooky creatures lurking beneath the surface.

Kids will be challenged to help the resident Sea Witch protect all the attraction’s creatures from the terrible curse, collecting all the magical ingredients needed for the only spell that can help save the aquarium.
When: Until November 3.
