For those of you who want to keep fit whilst having a baby in tow we have selected the best baby friendly classes in Greater Manchester. From dancing to yoga there are plenty of groups to choose from.

If you are after a unique and novel way to bond with your baby whilst dancing look no further. Dance Like a Mother are fun, inclusive and unique babywearing dance classes. With classes popping up all over the place and friendly and approachable instructors you will definitely find the class for you!

Each class gives women the opportunity to get active and dance in a really non-judgemental and relaxed environment. You will also be given information and advice on safe babywearing that you will be able to take away with you!

Every Monday Sadhana offers Yoga and Pilates sessions at Monton Memorial Hall. This is a wonderful, nurturing and supported class, for parents and babies and toddlers. These classes are drop in so there is no need to book and all ages are welcome. During school holidays older siblings can also join in the fun. These sessions allow parents to work with Yoga and Pilates techniques to gain tone and strength in core, pelvic floor, hips and back. Things that come in handy once you have had a child.

Becca offers Mum and Baby classes in the park, where you are encourage to come down, meet new friends and get active. She is a fabulous instructor who runs hour long sessions for a great workout with the baby. These classes are suitable from six weeks post partum (or 10 weeks post c-section). The sessions are not full on bootcamps but you will leave feeling energised and ready for the day ahead. They are drop in classes and take place in Davyhulme park in Urmston, Worthington park in Sale and Stamford Park in Altrincham. Becca also runs running clubs for Mums aimed at total beginners to seasoned pros, which are a great way to get back in to running after having a baby.

If you are looking for a more gentle way to exercise you can join local parents on this pram-friendly leisurely walk along the heritage loopline. This s a gentle circular walk along the old railway line suitable for prams, babywearing and toddlers/children. This is a 50 minute walk which terminates in Monton centre with a coffee. They meet come rain or shine every Wednesday from 11:30am. On very rare occasions they may cancel the walk in extreme weather and this will be posted on their Facebook page.
